The name "Uchkuevka" comes from the Crimean Tatar village of Uch-Kuyu, located in this area. When exactly it appeared is unknown, perhaps even in the Middle Ages. In 1930, this territory became part of Sevastopol, and the village of Uch-Kuyu (Uchkuevka) was abolished, but the historical name was assigned to the park as well.
